Title: stolen iriver H120 and other stuff
Post by: divamum on December 21, 2007, 01:06:47 PM
Hi guys.  Been a while - hope life in taperland has been good.

I was mugged a couple of days ago and although the robber only got my work bag (instead of my purse with wallet etc), my iRiver h120 was in it.  I'm heartsick - my only salve is that it was Rockboxed, so unless the thief was a recording geek it probably won't be any good to anybody else as they try to figure out how to format it etc without knowing how to find directions!

So, just in case: if anybody comes across a rockboxed 120 with lots of opera on it, it's MINE.

Next question:  since I have my R9, I do most of my recording with that, but it's still useful to have an mp3 player that COULD record in the event I need it. Anything hout there anybody can recommend? Obviously, iPods (although it would make me choke to succumb to the borg!), and I see Creative have some decent players, but anything anybody in here likes that might be able to record in a pinch?

Just wondering...

Happy holidays to you all!

Mugged, hope you didn't get hurt (or traumatized!) I got mugged last year, held something small and cold about 1/4" diameter to the back of my neck and told me not to turn around (I didn't) It took me a couple weeks to get over it. I could feel my brains splattering against the pavement for weeks after....

well, at least they only got your bag and you walked away.

pick up a JB3.  they come through the yard sale pretty often.  usually around $100.

at least

yeah, I had a JB3... sold it to buy the Edirol!  I guess I'm hoping for something smaller than a JB3.  I suppose I could hunt for another h120 but I'm not sure how likely it is to find one as mint as mine was (esp since the battery was still going strong!).

Thankfully, my attacker wasn't armed - probably a good thing as instinct kicked in and I struggled until he dragged me into a brick pillar.  Bruised and iRiverless, but otherwise ok.

I hope Santa brings you a new recorder.
