is the threading the same size? anyone? anyone??
thanks!

I believe the Vark bar uses 3/8 threads, so you would probably need 3/8 > 5/8 thread adapters, unless of course your shockmounts came with a pair.
here's one from B&H: http://tinyurl.com/2o7bgy

Frankly, having adapters is something that EVERY taper should have ready access to in their gear bag.
I always have a couple of 1/4-20 > 5/8 adapters and 3/8 > 5/8 adapters handy for when I need them.
The 1/4-20 are for the top of a light stand and the 3/8 > 5/8 are for many of the t-bars that have 3/8 inch hardware.
This also is universally handy for the top of light stands and mating with the vark bar although it's not directly related to the question you asked.
