I need a bag that will carry a 15" laptop and Tascam HD-P2 plus various cables, external batteries etc. Can anyone make a suggestion please?
I would think a rakgear bag/backpack would suit your needs.

It has a nice secure "pocket" for a lap top that can be accessed thru the lid without opening the bag.
It might be a little big for ya.
