didn't want to continue with the M901 thread in the FS forums so....as mentioned i am kinda upset with the slight popping of the amp when shutting down (not so much when turning the M901 on). ive got some pretty nice vintage cans and it's getting a bit irritating. any of the owners leave the M901 on for extended periods? or do u always shut off after a session and if so any recommendations for minimizing the popping?
I do still love this amp just so we get things straight! ;D

I was serious when I said I have yet to power it down since I got it and that was ~2 months ago and I do seem to remember the prvious owner saying he kept it on all the time to...anyone else, Nick?
EDIT: I just mine turned off and on and got a slight very small mid-low thud on power off and a very small mid-high pop when powering on, low gain and level at 10:00...i'm leaving mine on unless traveling.

WOW! i didn't think u were really serious. i guess it will stay on from now on! J.T.L do you know of people connecting speakers to it? If so what set up are they using?

lots of people leave their solid state gear on all the time.
I never turn off my cd player or dat deck. My DAC doesn't even have a power button.
I'd just leave it on. You may find that it sounds better after being "warmed" up for a bit

i leave most of my gear on all the time.

i agree with the others. leaving gear on all the time keeps all the components "warm" so to speak. constantly power on and off electronics you use daily can really lessen the life of capacitors and other components and thus lessen the life of your gear.
budget billing with your electric company is a great option ;)

I have a Grace 902 and i leave mine on all the time.
Hate that popping sound when i shut down.
Mine also pops (lesser) when i change bit/sample rate on my PC playback.

well i was once part of an entire studio burning down :o during a video shoot and lost some nice gear amongst other things (all was insured thank God) but i am still weary of electricity and cables.
thnx again!
