Title: adobe audition 1.5, recording is too quiet
Post by: jagraham on January 13, 2008, 04:34:26 PM
hello-
i am using adobe audition 1.5, what options should i use to make the recording a little louder for upload/cd play?  should i just normalize the whole recording as i see fit?

If you normalize everything you end up with the show... exactly as it was recorded.. Just louder.
You can also highlite a section, Then click effects and amplify

or, depending on the source material, you may want to just boost the original recording volume. normalizing works fine, but it can take some time for long recordings (adobe audition seems dreadfully slow to me when normalizing or adding any sort of filter).

^^^^ You can have a cup of coffee and listen to some other music while it is running.  I usually browse this board.

i only run audition 1.5 on my laptop for mobile recording of band practices, otherwise it's pro tools all the way (and, to me, pro tools seems faster)
