I'm having a strange problem with some 24bit FLAC's. Some not all, so I'm suspecting it has something to do with the recent (1.2?) FLAC update. Playback starts up and sounds fine, then just starts skipping through tracks randomly. My older 24bit FLAC files (24/48 and 24/96) play fine, that's why I'm suspecting the MM output plugin is in need of updating.
I've posted to the MM forum here:

its probably the software. are you using this program to encore or just play back?

If you're updating between the releases I found that I had to re import some of my shows. When they behave badly just add/rescan those files. You should be fine.

Just playback. These are recent (since last fall) 24bit shows recorded by others that I uploaded from LMA. My 24bit FLAC's play fine, and I am still using an older version of FLAC to encode due to the issue with the LMA verification script issue.

I've done the add/rescan several times, as I'm in the process of going DVDR > HDD for storage/playback. Doesn't have any effect on this problem.

Hmmm... I've been using the Latest version of MM (3.02.1131) and using both Poikosoft and TLH for encoding (Which use the latest Flac iteration) and haven't seen this issue quite as you describe it. In my case it would skip the track completely. Outside of the standard, uninstall-reinstall, I'm not sure what to tell you. Hope you find a solution soon.

can you tell me what flac plugins are in your mediamonkey/plugins/ folder? there are 3 in mine, you'd think there would be just 1, so maybe they're conflicting.

f_flac.dll
f_flac_codec.dll
I'll check the installation at home when I get there.

so I updated my MM to 3.02.1131 and now I have the problem on ALL my FLAC files. :P

Good lord!! :o ::)
Now re-scan? Jeebus.
Are you uninstalling then installing or just writing over?
I'm hating this for ya. Oh when you reinstall you have to re-setup the kernel streaming so that it points to your correct sound card, I did freak for nothing when I forgot to check that.

well, it could have been a combination of things, but I have it *almost* working now. I'm getting playback, but some very infrequent digi-farting-noises. Hoping it's just a buffer tweak. I do like the MM3 improvements. And you're right about the output settings, that was one problem.
