....with out much actual live recording going on here on the Island, I have started transferring my dat masters via my 744T.
The stuff I started yesterday was 16/44.1....so I set the 744T to the same and ran my PDR 1000 into it via the BNC digitally.
The question is...would there be any benefit to have the 744T at 24/48? and if so, do I have to change any settings?

nope.
Yeah, simple answer is no. I assume the 744 doesn't resample so it should only accept the digital signal given to it(in this case 16/44.1 or 16/48 for other masters you may have) by the DAT player regardless of what you have the 744 set to.

i dont know about the 744t... but dont forget to change the settings to 16bit.
i made this mistake while transfering some dats.
it will record @ 24/28, even though your sending the 744 a 16bit signal.
