Title: NJB3 "Firmware protection" displayed error
Post by: lordbelial on February 12, 2008, 12:59:57 AM
Just found that my NJB3 won't boot normally, for a second the message "firmware protection" is displayed and then I'm forwarded to the "Clean disk" "Format all" "Reboot" "Clean OS" menu.

The only choice that left to use is "Clean OS". I was at the field so I could not load firmware from PC.

Is my NJB3 dead?

Solved.
Just updated the firmware. Seems to be a regular problem.

ยท  "Firmware problem" has appeared on my Nomad screen. Now what?

There is no clear reason as to why this occurs, but there are some things you can try:

1. Reset the player
2. Run Disk Cleanup
3. Reload the OS

If none of these help you may want to contact Creative Support as the only other option left is to reformat the player. If you do this you will obviously lose all content, including that bundled with the player.

Note that format seems to be the most common cure for this.
