I just ordered a set of these.
The Shure donuts are too easy to destroy for a guy like me. The rubber breaks just like a condom if you are not careful!
;)
Anyone use these AT's?

What are you doing to those poor Shure A53Ms? Whatever it is, I hope it's not too much like the way condoms are mainly used.
I have some (Shure shock mounts, that is--not condoms) that I've used for 20+ years without damage--never thought of them as fragile before.
--best regards
P.S.: I have to say, I can't see how the shock mount in the picture would give more than a token amount of isolation from vibrations.

Well, jamming my mics in there doesn't seem to work very well :-\

Man, I shudder to think of how you are using the condoms. ;) My Shure mounts impress me as rugged. I rely on them for my Schoeps cards and they have never impressed me as delicate. Your post raises a whole lot of questions best addressed in another forum. 8)
