UNder RECORDER SETUP: on file split do i use ON or OFF
help

You don't have to do anything special, as far as I know. My file split is set to 2 gig. That works for me, and the few times that I've needed it, I've found the splits to be seamless.

"UNder RECORDER SETUP: on file split do i use ON or OFF"
I have the same questions...yes or no on the file split? I'm at 1.30 and 2GB files...but what should the setting above be?

it should be YES
meaning that it will file split automatically at the level you put in, say 2gb.
So at the 2gb level, the file will split seemless into the next

This is incorrect.
The FILE SPLIT - ON/OFF option only controls whether or not you can manually split the file anytime while recording by pushing the REPEAT A-B button. (unless the hold switch is activated of course)
The recorder automatically starts a new file when it reaches whatever max file size setting you've selected (using the MAX FILE SIZE setting), until the card is full or the batteries run down, regardless of the setting above. You do not need to do anything to 'activate' the automatic split feature.

Thanks for the clarification.
I read this to mean that if I have that setting to ON I can then use the A/B Repeat button to force split (say during a time before the 2GB split if the time the 2GB split would occur during actual music).

Yes, you can use the A/B Repeat buton to force split ( and its seemless too), but if you cant get to the recorder just keep it rolling and it will auto split if it is ON at the 2gb level.

It will auto-split even if FILE SPLIT is set to OFF.
All splits, either manual or automatic should be seamless unless you have a slow or buggy SD card. They will playback sesamlessly from the computer or from a DAO CD or if playing the files off the recorder though the computer, via the USB connection (recorder as storage device).
But files will not playback seamlessly on the recorder. Don't panic when they don't.
