Title: question about this battery (UA5)...
Post by: mikesalvo on February 27, 2008, 10:24:02 PM
ah, let the annoying questions about my never ending power issues commence....

so, I just purchased this batt to power my UA5:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/375503-REG/Initial_RB270_RB_270_Universal_Rechargeable_Battery.html

it came today. It has a selection of tips with it. Originally when Iw as askign around as to what batt to buy, some folks said to make sure the tip was either "+" or "-". Which do i need for the Ua5, and how can i tell whoch is + and which is -???  not sure if the proper adapter is included in this package, but if its not, im sure I can get it at RadShack.

thanks as always!

I supplied the cable(s) with the Juicebox, no need for additional cables/connections.

The tip needs to be (-) but the nice thing about the UA5 is you can not go wrong and burn up the box if you fuck up. Good luck!!
Peace

The rat shack adapt plug has a (+) on the front so you would turn the (+) on the plug around and then install. Really all you need to do if not marked is try it both ways w/ no worries to damage your UA5 w/ circuit fault protection.

one thing to remember with the battery and ua5 too
the battery has a "trip" in it that will go off sometimes when plugging it in to things
ALWAYS plug the JBox into the ua5 1st (or just leave it plugged in all the time) and plug the battery in 2nd
(using this method i never had the battery "trip"
the bad part of the battery tripping is that you need to reset it by plugging it into a wall plug, thus it could cause serious taping issues at some venues
