Ask The Tapers / Re: Looking for an SD card for the TASCAM DR-2d

Stick to 16gb cards.  The 32gb cards sometimes cause issues.  Looks like the 16gb cards going up in price.  Last time I bought they were half the price.   Faster speeds fine as there are other links besides the one I posted.  I have used TRanscend cards of similar specs in a pinch but generally stay with Sandisk.

Recording Gear / Re: Sony PCM-A10 (Part 2)

I have recently bought a new in-box A10. Have yet to use it but am very excited! I love my Roland R-05 and will still use it, but can imagine that the A10 is wayyyy better for (devil emoji ;) situations!

Another video review:
https://youtu.be/8H-OHAzS5xY

The device looks neat, but it's just another audio recorder with built in batteries on 2.4 GHz. I've lost count of companies that make these kinds of recorders. Seems like it was Rode who first started it, but I could be way off.

Now content creators have the best gear available to them (cameras, lights, microphones) but will they make original and interesting content, or will this neat gear get used by politicians and companies trying to peddle their message and products noticed by the masses.

Been using the SanDisk Ultra for a long time, the list on the Tascam site isn't updated for decades.

Hi,
Could you please tell me exactly which
SD Card you are using?

Then I can check if it's still available.

That would be great!
Thanks!

Hello everyone,

Could someone please help me out?

I am using the TASCAM DR-2d recorder specifically for its dual recording feature, and I need to get some new SD cards for it.

Up until now, I have been using the:

SanDisk Extreme 16GB SDHC UHS-I U3 memory card (up to 90MB/s read)

Unfortunately, this model is no longer available.

Could anyone please recommend an alternative SD card?

Thanks in advance!

Okay, now bear with me here...

I understood the assignment, and heat shrink is just beyond my capabilities right now, but here's what happened:

I managed to pull the wires out of the old plug and found this.
When pushed in all the way, this is the only metal that connects to the fork on the tinybox.
It's tiny, too, so I doubt seriously my ability pry it apart and reuse it, but its clear where the solder goes, at least, and I know I can do that part.

What is this metal piece called and where would I look for it?
