Hey all,

Rastasean sent me his stock FR2LE, so I was able to do a side by side comparison of recording a couple tunes in my home using his stock and my Busman T-mod.

I recorded two songs played through my home stereo on each recorder. First was Breathe from Pink Floyd's Live Pulse album. Second was Del McCoury's Cold Hard Facts. It gave a nice comparison of rock versus acoustic.

What is the best way to post these files. I would rather not post mp3s because i think you will lose the effect of the T-mod. Is there a way I can torrent these for a couple days?

Any suggestions are helpful.

I sent you a PM for a suggestion.

Thank you so much for the extensive testings! I will be pleased to hear the results.

Certainly looking forward to hearing this, thanks for the effort. Personally biased here because I have a t-mod myself and love what it did for my recordings.

If we're talking about 4 FLACs that are no more than ~10 minutes each (maybe each split in half if you want to do a blind test you can run stats on later), I have web space to host them for you if you'd like.  Should have adequate bandwidth to cover the anticipated demand.

I'd like to check these out as well because I might look at a mod down the road if it makes a really obvious difference. I also have to consider where most of my taping is done ( funky sounding bars) and if it would make a noticable difference in my pulls, all things being equal, of course.

Sean, you'll like the Avantones. They sound good to me, but being my first set of "big" mics, I really have nothing to judge against. I get pulls that make me happy and the bands that get copies seem to like them. Very nice for the price, even new.

Well, in terms of "noticable" or "obvious" differences, have you seen the results of this blind test?  It doesn't prove there are no differences, but I'd suggest they can't be terribly "obvious" (and the links should still be alive if you want to listen for yourself):

If all goes well, the audio will be available here: http://www.box.net/shared/avzfeld2id

Christos should be uploading the audio soon. I usually don't have 'net access on the weekend so if Christos can't get it working, please offer him the help.

[edit: i see Will has and so has the friendly officer]

The only person to know the real answers is Christos so I've very interested in hearing the differences as well.

Peace,
Sean
