Would there be any noticable difference between these two mounting configurations for spaced omni?

It doesn't seem like there should be, but I've never seen it done where they face to the side.   I'm making a light/portable stand for using at folk music acoustic jams, and the upper one where they point sideways would be easier I think.

Most real (single diaphram) omnis are still somewhat directional at higher frequencies.

Pointed toward the source will yield a result that sounds more direct and realistic on playback through speakers.

Pointed at 90 degrees away (Healy) will yield a result that, when it turns out well, is startlingly realistic with headphone playback but less so over speakers.

Healy does work well when up close or in the middle of a circle of players so for recording folk acoustic it might be just what you need.

I tried it a few times with mixed results. Lots of bleed so I would only use it onstage or in a controlled environment. Don't make your spread too wide....I had success with 8-10 inch spread from cap to cap.
