Shockmount recomendations for two active-style mics?
« on: October 19, 2009, 09:50:13 AM »
I tried doing a DIY a27m replacement bar and while the construction went ok (not perfect, but functional), the shure donut essentially collapses when I use it in the verticle fashion. Now, I have been using it kwonbar style in a horizontal fashiong, but I'm extremely limited in what I do which defeats the purpose for me.

So, what shockmounts are out there that I could run the mic/bar vertically and not have it croak on me? Something with strong elastics or other stiff shock absorbers I think is what is needed. I have looked at the Rycote INV-1 (3 and 6 would also work), and a generic A20S replacement. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I've been more than pleased by Busman's faux A20s.  Price is great at $20 or so.

Thanks, I think someone in town still has one I can borrow to test with.

Any other ideas?
