Its definately not the cables. The only common link in these two chains is my p2. Here are the configurations run with the same result, the left channel fuzzy.
WSP 11/27 and 11/28: Busman mics->monster cable->psp2->kind cable interconnects->HD-P2
Phish 12/5: AKG483->kind cables->brick->monster interconnects->HD-P2
As you can see everything is different except for the HD-P2. Does anyone have any ideas?
Which contradicts what you said (or more importantly, didn't say) in the first post.
If indeed the only thing in common is the P2 then it must be the P2.
Was it the P2 that had reports of the XLR sockets in the deck having rust problems? I know several TSers reported the problem but I don't recall if it was the P2 or another deck. Most of the reports were of rust on the outside but if that happened it could also have occurred inside. Without opening the deck you probably won't be able to tell. If it is a stock unit still inwarranty call Tascam. If it's been modified or is out of warranty call your vendor or Busman.
Hope you figure out what the problem is without having to spend a bundle to get it diagnosed and fixed.
