Replacing Harddrive in 7XXseries
« on: July 04, 2010, 03:11:13 PM »
The harddrive went out in my 722 a few weeks back.  I heard that they are pretty simple to replace and I was wondering if anyone here at ts has replaced one themselves and does anyone know the best place to pick up a replacement hard drive?   Any help would be greatly appreciated !!  Thanks Jamie

I assume you have seen the hard drive replacement instructions Sound Devices has published?  If not, here is a link.

Note that Sound Devices now makes an interface for SATA drives:

If I had to do it today I would go with the SATA interface + a SSD disc. Less heat and longer battery life.
Not really difficult to change, a bit fiddly though to get it together.
