Soundman OKM's > Mic In?

to those familiar with the Soundman OKM stealth mics: Is it possible to use these on a Mic in on a recorder like the Olympus LS-5 or is the power adaptor (Soundman A3) needed for that? I intend to use the mics for field recordings.

Soundman FAQ says they can handle up to 96 dB without the A3 - I think that's the OKM Classic model. II Rock/II Rock Studio can handle louder sounds.
Contact Rolf for clarification for your specific model, great guy!
