Yes, lots of folks have posted horror stories about the MT 1&2. Lots of other folks, me included, have never had a problem. Seems if you get a good unit it functions as it should but if you get a lemon it will always be a lemon, latest firmware updates or not.

Ok sorry, a number of clarifications here, I have several preamps and small recorders (D50, M10). A friend of mine needs to do a series of recordings of conversations with wireless lavalieres (2 mics in every conversation), and each lavalier put in different places, for example, may be one in interiors while the second in exteriors, my friend tries to make his recordings without external mixer, only using a recorder (24b/48K), for which I recommended to use a tape recorder with separate volume controls for each channel recording, wireless are Sennheisers G2. My friend's budget is small.

The MINIR82 Sonosax obviously is out of the price range, I thought tascam DR100 or the Marantz PMD661 and hoped some recommendations of a tape recorder that meets the same requirements and is on sale today.
