Trouble with Car CD Player/Changer
« on: March 30, 2011, 11:52:34 AM »
I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima GLE with a 6CD Bose (Clarion?) deck.  It'll hang up while playing discs for no reason, no bumps, not cold weather etc.  This happens with silver cds as well as cdrs.  Same discs will occassionally play, and on other occasions not work at all.  If I play a disc on repeat, first time through it will be fine, and then going back to track 1, it won't even be able to make it 10 seconds in to the disc without hanging up on me.

Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated.  I've read that some of the cleaners may not work or be read by the deck, and others have also had some worsening effects after using a cleaning disc such as this one:

Thanks in advance.

Time for an upgrade IMO...  We need to get one for our van, it does the exact same thing you're describing...

I've been looking at Crutchfield.com a lot over the last few months.  I think I'll invest some of our tax return this year in it.
