Help with R09HR firmware update
« on: April 04, 2011, 05:37:30 PM »
I can't seem to get my firmware to update to a newer version!!!  I have 1.03 and have tried updating to 2.00 and 3.01 and I can't seem to get either to work.  I downloaded the zip file and extracted to the R09HR, but when I try to open/run the new firmware nothing happens.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

???

You're not supposed to open or run the firmware update. Format the SD card in the recorder, copy the update to the card, put the card in the recorder (with power off), hold down REC and power on. Don't let go of REC until the update says it's complete.

If it doesn't work I'd suggest trying a different SD card.

Do you have just the file on the card and nothing else? Unzip and copy just the update file itself, not the whole folder.

BTW, did you ditch the Sony for the Edirol?

No, I love the D50!!!  I like haveing the digi in/out option so maybe one day I can get an opti V3.  Got R09HR for sbd, patching out of other rigs, or backup deck.

I'm still on v1.05...never really had a reason to update. I think unity is supposed to be 36 or 38....can't remember.
