Storage box for Core Sound microphones?
« on: September 21, 2011, 06:50:10 AM »
What does everybody around here use as a storage box or case for their Core Sound microphones?  Just got a set of the High-End Binaurals (dpa 4061) and would like to protect the mics from the elements here in Mali.  I'm a fan of Pelican cases so if anybody has any specific model numbers that they use and can pass on, that would be great.  Anything else that I should look at?  I would want one case to hold the mics and battery box together.

I like these small otterboxes for storage!!  I'm sure you could fit a set of 4061 in this I stored AKG ck93 caps in mine and foamed the inside for protection.  They have a slight larger one than this if you need a bigger one.

I actually have a pelican case....it came from coresounds.  it fits the heb's, the batt box and an R09HR perfectly....  I am not sure which model it is tho...i can't find a model numer on it..... i think it is the 1040.  The lid is a little different but the internal dimensions are the same....

I bought a set of windshields for dpa's which came in nice small plastic box which now houses my mics in between shows :D

I use one of those hard, clam-shell-style eye-glass cases.  Light weight and does the trick.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.  I ordered a Pelican 1060 so hopefully it's large enough to fit the HEBs and my D50.  If not, I'll return it and downsize to the 1020 for the HEBs and use a camera case for the D50.

I have that plastic dpa case that has the windscreens but it just looks too small for coiled HEBs.  I'll give it a shot if I don't like the Pelican.

Should work fine!  I used a pelican 1050 to store my D50 and it fit perfectly.  So the 1060 should give you the extra space you need for mics and battery box.
