Thank you Sound Devices Service
« on: November 05, 2011, 07:26:34 AM »
I contacted Sound Devices a few weeks ago regarding an MP2 I have had for about 8 years.
It no uncertain terms it was fried.... no output
I emailed their service department and asked about having it repaired and reconditioned.
They asked for the serial # and where I bought it (Sonic Sense) and issued me a service order.
I shipped it at my expense.   A few days later I get a phone call ot let me know it has been repaired and would UPS Ground be OK.
Repaired and returned packaged like brand new... gratis.....
Awesome !!!
It's an obsession but it's pleasin'.......

Agree totally.
I have interacted with the service people twice in about 7 years. And with equally positive experiences.

First time, there was a free upgrade on my SD722 to version 2.0, allowing it to record to external firewire devices. My 1.0 version did not support this. No cost except for local shipping here in Sweden. Great experience.

Second time, changing the hard drive myself, managed to strip one o the long screws holding the box together. Mailed SD and a few days later, free of charge, came a set of extra screws.

This is professional level quality!

Gunnar
