Looks like about +6dB at 10kHz.  Depends on how smooth the response is (the graph in the PDF is obviously smoothed, and only indicates the general response).  I'm really liking the Gefell M94 capsules that have a very similar response.  These may be well suited to our type of recording applications.  Nice looking too.

Appears to drop off a touch on the low-end, too (~4dB).  I'd be interested to see how they sound; guessing a little "sparkly"?

Would like to know what capsule is in there.

I've seen a number of other Beyerdynamic products that use vanilla Panasonic WM55a capsules.  This is likely better than that, but I'd love to know if Beyerdynamic is actually manufacturing electret elements.  The other option is that it could be a Transsound (TSB) capsule.

Hmm, interesting.  Their website says it is made in Germany, and it is listed as part of their mid-priced mic family (as opposed say to the MCE  530 that is listed as entry level).

Makes me wonder what it sounds like.  For $260 a pair street price, they could be a good alternative compared to all the low-priced mics that are made in China.

These do look nice for the price!!  They are also small so they would be low profile for a full bodied mic.

BTW, I didn't mean to draw any comparison of this mic with the Gefell M94 other than a generally similar on-axis frequency response.  I was slightly concerned that the similar +6 dB bump (centered just slightly lower around 8kHz) of the M94 would make it over-bright, but was pleased to find that was not the case to my ears.  Hopefully this Beyer will behave similarly, though obviously there are no guarantees of that.  Great price.  Also curious about the capsule.

Also the specs show a lot of flexibility (12-48V) Phantom, but I think 4.7mV is a relatively high current draw

My milabs are 4ma and my Beyer mc950's are 4.6ma.  4.7ma might be on the high side of average/typical, but it isn't really that high.  I thought mics were usually in the 3-4.5ma range, with some mics a lot more efficient and some less efficient (6-10ma each).

I was thinking more in the context of what the Tinybox can supply.  The numbers Jon has been quoting for the v2 Tinybox are in the 6mA range

if you're shooting for full 48v, sure, but the beyer 9xx series draw the same amount and others here have successfully used their tinyboxs when selecting the low voltage settings and most of beyer's recent offerings have been 12-48v products.

One thing that stood out at me; the specs are virtually identical to a padded 930 (max spl of 140, post-pad mv/pa, noise figures, etc). I suspect they will sound similar but these may be brighter in the meaty cymbal range vs the "air" of the 900 series.

Someone should email beyer and ask what they think the differences are, they will respond (with something).

I sold my mc930s because I thought they sounded too warm and dull in the higher frequencies. This mic definitely has me interested especially at such a low price point in comparison to the mc930.
