Heh. I've wondered at times if I'd enjoy being a mastering engineer. I feel I have the aptitude and know I'd enjoy the work and the process, but I wonder if working on music I didn't care for would be a huge drag!

it would be.

The mechanic I trust to work on my car's engine works on the cheap, but on a few conditions; I have to help (which is ok, fun, and educational) and I have to listen, complaint free, to 8 hours of modern country music on the radio while we work. Hearing "She Thinks My Tractors Sexy" and "Camouflage" twice in one day will tax even the heartiest of souls who are unprepared for such onslaught...

It might be different if I was getting paid for it, but I'm sitting on a bunch of masters now that I don't care about and even though I promised I would do them for a friend, something "better" always seems to jump the front of the line. ;D
