Peluso cemc6 or Shure KSM141

Both of these mics are within my budget. I'm curious what is the consensus on which is the better choice.
Perhaps another one of the veterans here can recommend something in the same price range?
I will be doing mostly on stage recording, but not exclusively.
I'm liking the Shure because of it's omni/card feature being built in.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had a set of Peluso CEMC6 for a while.  Nothing wrong with them, it just wasn't my flavor of choice.  The cap that makes the Peluso really shine seems to be the Subcard cap.  If you can buy a pair with the subcard caps alone, instead of buying the bodies with card caps, and then paying extra for the subcards, that would be great.  I think people have worked that deal with Soundpure in the past, even though it's not something they advertise.

I can't comment on the KSM141... I don't think I've ever heard a tape made with them.

In that same price range, consider AKG391's, and Busman.

The best way to choose is by spending several evenings listening to samples on the archive and decide what YOU like.  Asking our opinion on mic flavor is like asking us what kind of ice cream to buy.  It's your money, best if you decide what you like.

I've always liked the AKG391 SE 300 B
I read in this old thread that they can be bought at $725 for a new pair.
The cheapest I can find is $866. Anyone know where to find a nice price like $725?

These show up in the YS once in awhile. Put a "WTB" there and see if anybody is willing to sell theirs.

Indeed. I sold mine in the yard for $300. That was a great price I sold them for but, I bought them for a great price.
I would definitely put out an ISO as they are regularly sold used for $350-$450. Don't pay more than that for used though.

I have used the KSM141s a lot and really like them.  The omni mode is really good.   And the convenience of the switch as opposed to changing capsules is nice.   Do not know the Pelusos.  There are tons of choices.

Between the Shures and the Peluso's, I would go with the Peluso's ;)

Personally, I would go w/ the Busman BSC2 Active Setup :) Shocker, eh? ;D
