They will, but not cheap.  If you go to their website you can locate the nearest authorized repair spot.

When my screen cracked, I did that, and the dude quoted me a ridiculous price that was almost more than just buying a new deck....

Maybe try a local electonics repair shop. If they just need to re-solder the line in back to the board it might be worth it.

I think it's a good excuse to upgrade to the M10. :)

a while back I was on the phone ordering stuff from Sound Professionals (talking to Chris himself) and he told me that he can fix that. I didn't need that at the time but you may want to look them up but I remember his quoted price at being around $20-30. That was a couple years ago though.   http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/category.cgi?category=0

I would definitely go the SoundProfessionals route if this is indeed something they offer. I also wonder if they their replacement improves the overall durability. If not, I would highly recommend opening it up and using epoxy to reinforce the line in jack.

Here is an option you can try. Sell you R-09 with the bad mic in.

Look at this one that sold for $71+ $15 shipping
http://www.ebay.com/itm/121112193272?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649&autorefresh=true
Here are the recorders known issues.  Recorder has cosmetic wear.  3.5mm Mic in not working, but someone more tech savy than I may be able to repair it.  The hold switch is missing from the side of the recorder, but other than not being able to put the recorder in hold mode, doesn't affect it.  When in menus sometime pushing up also pushes left.

Then buy this new wuth no box $119+ $6 shipping.

So $41 plus shipping and ebay fee's so you can flip a defective r-09 for a new. Of course I cannot guarantee what you will get for yours but this will give you an ideal. But it would be cheaper then sending to Roland.
I did this for a non working digital camera and flipped for a new one upgraded camera and out of pocket was around $30-40.

I finally have the same problem with my R-09. The mic in is having problems and I think the line in is also starting to go. I like the R-05. Does anyone know if they strengthened the inputs?

I've never had a problem with the R-09HR.  Of course I never had a problem with the R-09, either.
