Headphone Covers?
« on: August 04, 2012, 01:22:20 AM »
Hey All just curious if someone can recommend some good headphone covers for my Sony MDR7506.  I know someone mentioned some good velour ones here a while back but couldn't find the thread.  Any help is appreciated.

I picked up a pair of the Pearstone deluxe velour replacement earpads from B&H linked below for $19.95, it was maybe a year ago or so.  Pearstone also makes a standard version like the original Sony earpads for $5 less but I highly recommend the deluxe velour model because the velour is so much more comfortable than the original earpads for extended listening with these cans.

I used the Beyerdynamic replacement pads on my 7506's and am extremely pleased!  Installation was easy, and the velour is very comfy...

I was just about to buy a pair of the stock replacements for my 7506's. Glad to hear there are alternatives. Thanks for the recommendations!

Hmmm, rather tempted to buy a set of these and see if they fit my ATH-M50's...

Anyone know where to find those semi-rigid zippered cases for fullsized cans?

You mean something like THIS, THIS or THIS?  eBay has been where I've usually found my headphone cases.  And almost always made in and shipped from the far east.  Just do a search for "headphone case" and pages of them come up.

I'm using one of THESE for my MDR7506 cans, it's padded (not rigid) and a perfect size that works nicer than the pouch supplied with the cans.  Had found a deal of $5.00 each couple of years ago.  Might be difficult to find that price again and a different size would be needed if your cans don't have a folding design but they work great for MDR7506's.

I'm on my second pair of velours...the first pair lasted nearly 9 years!   Totally worth the $$$ and they are super comfy compared to the pleather paddings the Sony's originally ship with.
