I sent an email to Milo Software (info@milosoftware.com) and here is the response I got back...

Yeah, but not much. One is a superset of the other, "direct" will never change the bit depth/rate, much like the "direct" option that some amplifiers offer. So it's the safe thing to pick if you want to preserve the quality.

HMMMMM  When you use the "WAV" option, it automatically lists the bit depth and rate, so you would assume that wouldn't change anything if you stayed with the setting.   But it does give you the option to change those settings, so you could dither and downsample accidently if you're not careful.. "DIRECT" doesn't give any option to do so.

Interesting...  I don't have CDWave here at work so I couldn't check for myself...  Thanks!

I thought I read somewhere (here probably) that using CDWave to Dither or Downsample would cause problems???  Anyone else remember that???

I don't know about problems, but I doubt it would be the same quality dither as iZoptope mBit, or something like that.
