ISO Lighting Stand Adaptor
« on: June 28, 2013, 05:04:48 PM »
I'm looking for the adaptors that slip over and attach to a lighting stand with a small side screw and have a threaded mic mount. I think the last one I bought was from mic supply. I didn't have any luck looking on the web. What are folks using these days to mount mics on a light stand?

This has served me well:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/53824-REG/Testrite_LSA10_LSA_10_Light_Stand_Adapter.html

When my stereo bar has a 3/8 female connection instead of 1/4, I use an adapter like this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-4-to-3-8-Convert-Screw-Adapter-for-Tripod-Monopod-Brass-/321097546225?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ac2e7b9f1

At this price, might as well buy new instead of waiting for a little bit lower price used.

I asked about this some time ago and ended up doing the following recently when I went to an Actives setup:

Manfrotto Rapid Adapter 014-38:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/546490-REG/Manfrotto_014_38_014_38_Rapid_Adapter.html

On Stage MA300 3/8" female to 5/8" male knurled adapter:

What I like about the Rapid Adapter is that you can loosen it and reposition the mics/mount the way you need them WITHOUT having to move the stand which is pretty sweet.

I use the Manfrotto Rapid Adapter but all of my shocks are 1/4" so my rapid adapter is 5/8">1/4". I have two and LOVE THEM 8)
