Our 20+ year experience with DPA capsules taught us that if you apply 16 Volts to a 4060-series microphone without using a correctly computed dropping resistor, you will destroy the capsule. It will be a costly mistake, so if you don't know what you're doing, you might consider not doing it.
We've seen capsules destroyed by less than ten Volts and we've seen tens of destroyed 4060-series capsules.
