Only problem is that I had to go through a metal detector after the quick check of the clear bag?   

If they institute a strip search policy, you have reason to be concerned.  Otherwise, when the metal detector goes off, just shrug your shoulders and look somewhat bewildered.  If you still get held up, start taking off your pants (but don't actually drop your undies) right there in front of everyone.  Trust me, you will quickly be told that it's OK to proceed into the venue.
