I want to Power my Lunatec V3 with AA's

Short version:  Simplest approach is to keep it set for 6V operation for operation with supply voltages from 6-15VDC.  The unit will run somewhat hotter at higher voltages.

but I have never changed the jumpers on my V3. Is it really just going to affect the battery meter and shutoff voltage? Doesn't seem like it if running 6v would make it run cooler.

what fsulloway was using there are basically the same L-series sleds i linked (his was hacked with a custom cable form a charger, the one i linked is build to do that)

again a great cheap option in the proper voltage range. the Li-ions peter out right around 6.0V, so you get good use of them
