Reaper Basics Help

Hi
I've been wanting to move over to Reaper for 'mastering' my recordings
I've tried it couple of times over the years but never found it that straight forward.
I don't know why that is, I think maybe I'm just impatient
I've been using the very simple Wave Editor but it no longer works in the latest Mac OS

I've been doing 4 track recording on my MixPre6 recently so any help on working on 4 tracks in relation to the below would be great

All I want to do is-
Open the recording in DAW
Trim ends
Normalize
Use iZotope for EQ/limiting
Use other plug-ins if needed
Cut in up into separate songs
Select individual tracks (and or songs) and work on independent of the others
Add fades
Save tracks as separate stereo files

Hey there,

I am a longtime user of both Reaper and iZotope RX.

I highly suggest you reverse your workflow.  What I do is:

RX:
- Trim concert start / end
- Analyze for peak and RMS levels
- Level adjust
- Spectral denoise (I have to use this frequently)
- Spectral repair if needed
- Export

Reaper:
- Tracks, fades, effects, render out

I recommend you check out this thread.  The things I listed in the bookmarked post should help you out.  SWS Extensions is awesome for quickly editing and exporting tracks out of a concert.

I've been on TS for a long time and have seen may post from you helping people without any judgment as to how hard they have tried to help themselves and I really appreciate your efforts.

Many other members of this board have been very helpful and non-judgemental to me as I continue to learn about concert recording.  On the occasions I can offer help to other people, I try to pay it forward. 

There are some other people here who are experienced with Reaper, and hopefully they will offer some suggestions as well.

If you need some help removing steady-state noise with iZotope RX Spectral Denoise, I have some recommendations there based on a lot of trial and error.  There's a thread for that already somewhere else though.
