my Refresh rate is 16 Hz.

I don't know if you use you soundcard and for those maybe you have Microsoft Sound Mapper which one do you use?

What do you mean by messed up when you split the tracks? What refresh rate are you talking about? If you're more specific, there's a better chance that we'll be able to help you.
Out of the game … for now?

ok well here is what happens. I transfer my DAT recording from my D8 to Goldwave then I save the file to wav 16/48 then I use CD Wave to split the huge wav file to tracks. well I split all the tracks intended and then my files get distorted when I save all the Tracks seperate. do I need to elaborate more? or is this good to help. I also save the file the same sample rate as the first file.

First thing...you need to get resample your recording to 44.1khz BEFORE you track it out in CDWave (I'm presuming you are burning this to CD)

I suspect you are inadvertently using CDWave to reasample...

I've tried to used CDWaves resample function...but it sounded pretty crappy...maybe I didn't have the settings right...

so it needs to me in 41? why can't it be in 48? it can't handle the sample? and yes I am burning this to CD.

It needs to be in 44.1 because CD-Wave only cuts at multiples of 588 samples. 588 samples is 1/75 only at 44.1khz. At 48kHz, it either won't put the track markers in the right place, or it'll resample and then place the track markers (not sure what it'll do because I've never done it). So resample (preferably in another program, it sounds like), then split with CD-Wave.

how can I resample it what program will do that. what does that mean? I am sorry for asking all of these stupid questions but I am still new with all this stuff.... I have been taping for awhile but not when it comes to transfering shows. I think that is the problem. so do I retransfer the show at 44.1 Khz?

Do the the transfer at the same rate as the master recording. (be sure to double check the cards settings)

Get the trial version of SoundForge 7.0 (30 days - full functions) and use it to resample to 44.1...use the highest quality settiings

then cut tracks in CD Wave...

BTW - 44.1 is the industry standard for CD Audio...that's why you have to resample...
