Best mic stand for live recording.

alex, im just curious- why do you need to run over 13'?  One of the principal reasons we run that high is to get over crowd noise, but I can't think of still having a significant amount of crowd noise over 10-11' unless shaq is in the audience... I'm just curious as to your reasoning.

depends on where the stacks are.....I hvae been in venues when the stacks are 40 ft high (arenas)...the bottom of them....as for stability, I wouldnt run full bodies up there, ever...but I know of a few folks that run schoeps actives and dpas up that high without much of a problem

different schools of thought on stack taping..I know some want to get the mics as high up as possible, and I have heard great tapes (albeit a bit stale) made from up there.  Me, I wouldnt run higher than 10-11' feet for most stack tapes...just different approaches
