Does anyone know of any specific problems with the refurbs?

Yeah, Creative doesn't have anymore and I'm pissed! Not really pissed, just a wee bit sad. Creative offers a short 30 day warranty with theirs, not sure about anyone else selling refurbs. I've had mine for about 2 or 3 months with no issues. Use it almost daily too.

I have 3 and they've all been flawless so far - my primary, Jen's for playback, and a backup for me.  Though to be fair I haven't used the backup much.

I heard about a Sony Vaio HD recorder that is either making it's way out or is out already.  Has anyone heard anything about this?

Thanks...I bought one w/out internal batteries and got a decent deal on it.

Man this is an expensive hobby I am getting myself in to!

HAH! - This hobby is cheaper than ever IMO....

I paid 600 bucks for a new Sony D5
I paid 650 bucks for my D7

I paid 150 bucks for my JB3

Cheap mics galore these days...
