not actives per say, but extensions from the modules to the caps.  I am working on making my own pair of these right now.

I still dont get it, Why, Oh Why does AKG make an active cable for the 390's but not the 460/480!?  I know they used to make them for the 460, but honestly...anyone have any idea why they dont make them for the 480 series?  I would kill for a set.  I know JK makes their boxes (and Im interested), but it sure would be nice to just be able to have actives and keep the full on AKG sound.... :'(

you'd think so, but then further down it says:

"3-m (10-ft.) cable and suspension providing a flexible connection between the SE 300 B powering module and AKG Blue Line CK 9. capsules."

I was just as disappointed when I first saw these however they are good enough for me once i get my franken-cables made, then maybe i can figure out how to power them active style.

I just woke up so I'm probably wrong too but..........don't other mics with "active cables" (MBHO, schoeps) also require the mic body?

As far as I know, with the exception of the JK Labs box and lemo connectors paired with a Lemosax, all mics with active cables require the body for powering. Schoeps require bodies with KC5 cables, Neumanns require the bodies with the LC3 cables, etc.
Right now nothing...in the past: Schoeps CMC6, AKG 480, AKG 460, AKG 414, MBHO 603a, Neumann KM100, ADK TL>Schoeps MK4, Schoeps MK2, Schoeps MK41, AKG ck61, AKG ck62, AKG ck63, Neumann AK40, Neumann AK50, MBHO ka200>Lunatec V2, Lunatec V3, Apogee Mini-Me, Oade M148, Oade M248, Sound Devices MP2, Sonosax SXM2>Sony (mod)SBM1, Apogee AD500>D7, D8, D100, M1, R1, R4, R09, iRiver HP120, Microtrack

befor i bought my set of these, i contacted the us akg representative with questions, and he said that there was no ciruitry whatsoever in these cables.  They are purely a connection between the caps and bodies, so if you could get connectors, then it wouldn't be too hard to make your own.
then we tell the kids that its good versus evil
that country and god are more important than people
we say it so much that its almost believable
