how do i change a wav header..?
« on: April 09, 2005, 02:29:58 AM »
from 44100 to 48000..?

i mentioned this in sean's thread... but i was using my pda rig in the field for the first time, and it was set for 44.1 kHz, but the sbm1 was set for 48 kHz. i didnt notice a problem until i compared it to another recording from the same night, and mine is slow. so i want to change the header, and see if my source and this alternate source match up, speed/pitch wise...

I just did this in Wavelab. Don't know if you have that program, but...

1. Go To: EDIT > Audio Properties...
2. Choose the bit rate and freq. you want.

I think that's it. Other than re-save the file.

hope that helps,
MIKE B

In CEP or Audition, go Edit, Adjust Sample Rate

These changes should always be instant - if the computer starts cranking data then you're probably doing a sample rate conversion instead of just changing the rate on the header.
