M-Audio Audiophile USB Problem....
« on: July 07, 2005, 07:20:38 PM »
Thanks to the reccomendation of several people on this site I bought the M-Audio Audiophile USB to
convert hundreds of DAT masters from various major acts to my PC & then
to torrent them for the masses.......

Problem is.... I hooked up the M-Audio USB and now ......I don't know what to
do next !?  I can not find a "record" button on the start up panel....not even a
menu to try & direct the audio stream to any folder..... the only thing I can get & see
is the control panel from my task bar......where do I go from there??

The instruction sheet is vauge and I am not the greatest when it comes to this stuff......

ANY HELP is appreciated........

I use CDWave and simply select the M-Audiophile USB SPDIF as the source of the sound. Play the DAT and hit record in CDWave. Once your computer knows to look for the source of audio from the M-A USB you should be all set.

Why yes........ there is my solution. !!  Thanks guys!

I was playing a 32k DAT and was wondering when I taped mickey mouse !
Put it to 32 and bingo.....worked great.

Any downside to recording using CD Wave ? Can Nero 6 do it ?

This is SO FRIGGING cool. No more DAT to CD to PC..... :D yeah man !

if youre just transferring, cdwave should be fine, but if youre gonna need to resample, you might as well record directly to your editing program(audacity is free), because recording in cdwave is just an extra step(recording/saving/re-opening in an editing program)

id record into wavelab/soundforge/samplitude/audacity) and then you dont have to jump around

BUT if youre dats are mainly in 44.1k, then cdwave is fine!
