loud clapping between songs sounds "echoey" ??
« on: September 19, 2005, 02:29:49 AM »
transferring a old Doc show for someone.  it's a stealth omni > d3.  I am using the master dat as far as I know for the transfer.  anyway between songs (not all of them) the loud clapping sounds "echoey"  I don't know how else to describe it.  some of the clapping/yelling betwen songs does brickwall but it doesn't seem to be that.  it only happens between songs, during clapping.    I attached two short  mp3 samples
.
the first one is where there is no brickwalling in the wav form.  the second there is.

unrelated to the "echoey" thing.  this is dat from 91.  the master held up pretty good and I think all the little flaws are not from "time"  but I don't know for sure.  anyway,  from time to time there is a noise that sounds like a bird chirp.  check out the wave

here are the wave file pics.

first is the echoey w/out brickwalling.  second is with.  thrid is the "chirping".  show sounds great except between songs and a few spots of static etc.

edit
the pics are in the worng order.  first is chriping

they were omnis worn on his glasses so he could have just covered them with his hands??  that's the only thing I can think of.

What about looking down to check the deck or looking for security?  Most phasing and other issues I've heard in stealth tapes is between songs.
