im going to leave it as is


i have a show that the levels only get to about -18 to -12.  -12 is the highest it gets. should i boost it?

Probably. The issue is that you'll bring up any noise floor that much as well. Plus if your not at 24bit you didn't use all of your 16bit resolution at that volume.
