Question about a stealth rig.
« on: October 27, 2005, 05:24:45 PM »
I have bid on a pair of dpa4061's on ebay they terminate in lemo connections.  What does it cost to have those connectors be cut off and replaced with a minijack?
I am wanting to start stealthing, I have a njb3 and from what I gather I need a batterybox of some sort.  is there anything else I need?  What kind of batterybox should I get.
I want to tape in many places, basically anywhere I can't tape regulary, a lot of small venues and some big areanas, I really hope to tape Tool when they go on tour and at more than one stop.  Most of the shows I will be taping will be metal/hard rock/medium rock.
Can anyone give me some advice on what I need to buy to make a nice rig?

Buy a sound pro battery box.  Sp-SPSB-7.  Get your DPA's terminated in 1/8.  And you will be able to record.

I was having a hard time soldering my DPA's to a 1/8 jack.  (The white wires are very small).  So I bougt  a 1/8>rca cable and cut off the phonos and soldered it up.  Works fine.  I did this mainly to make sure they work and are closely matched.  I am going to redo it soon.

Oh, I would be on the floor if I was taping tool, I think it would be safe because not many security guards go into the large group of people.  If any security person tried to break my camera I would totally go to jail for assault that night.
