hit the phantom power button.  but you won't need to do that if you're running a sbd feed into the front xlr jacks.

not to be that guy... but with that kind of money tired up in gear, why is TAPING actives to the stand the solution popping into you head?
buy a mount... sure its another $50 (give or take the direction you go) but damn boy, have a little pride... if nothing else, it will be easier for you to duplicate set ups so you can hone the sound.

You can get a pack of 100 velcro ties at Home Depot for like $8.

Reusable, no sticky residue, and extrermely convienent. I keep my actives wound together with them, then when I fly the stand I use 'em to secure the cables.

That's exactly what I do with my cables as well.  Never saw anyone do it either... just seemed like the natural thing to do.

I usually wrap the cable once or twice around the mount as well.  Not tight or anything, but I think that'dhelp with tension on the cable and if they did fall from the mount, they won't be falling far.

Because nothing says "I have lots of money and am sort of confused as to how to spend it" like Bose.
