Topic: Pretty big Pops

I made a tape recently and it has prett big pops and clicks in it.
I think it was down to my paranoia of a lead coming unseated and keep checking them.
Anyway, I have GoldWave, SoundForge or demo version of WaveLab.
I have tried using the WaveForm Restorer in WaveLab, but it doesnt seem to do anything?
I would really appreciate any help as most of the tape is ok, its just bad in places.

If you have Soundforge8 - try the "Audio Restoration Tools"

In version 7 they were called "Vinyl Restroation Tools"

Start with the default settings...

That worked to some extent, a defintite reduction, but unfortunatley its still audible. I guess I didnt expect it vanish.

If anyone can do this better than me, and would like to try and fix the one mostly problematic track, i am sure we can come to an arrangment ($$ )

The best pop remover I ever found was in Cool Edit Pro.  It always did a great job of removing about 98% of brief spikes completely.  There were always one or two troublemakers, but it worked much better than any tools I ever found in Wavelab, Soundforge, etc...you had to manually remove each one for maximum reduction though.  The algorithms never worked for me.

Not sure if the new version (Adobe Audition) has this feature or not.
