How much gain do you get from an mp2 with the knobs all the way low? I

6 db on the mini out and something more on the XLR outs

+6dB on the mini and +16 on the xlr.

+T's all around for the answers. I guess based on the previous comment on the M1 if I run this thing with the MT on the "L" setting then I would crank up the levels to the max on the microtrack and then if i still am not getting enough gain I would start adjusting the MP2 levels from the minimum position? I guess thats the way I interpreted the original answer that bs gave....

You may want to run the MP2 > MT differently.  It depends on the MT's gain structure.  If the MT's "gain control" is an attenuator, then you want to run the same way as the M1:  MT set high, MP2 low.  But if the MT's gain control is -not- an attenuator, if it actually adds gain, then you want to run the MT at 0 (or no gain) and set the MP2 accordingly.  Unfortunately, I don't know if the MT's gain control is an attenuator like the M1, or if it adds gain, so I can't make a recommendation one way or the other.  But maybe someone else knows and will chime in.

Also, I have put some shrink wrap around the pots so they'll stay in place while stealthing.

Care to explain that in a little more detail? You've piqued my interest.

Sure. I'll post a picture when I'm back at my place on Monday. edit: see picture below. The thing is since I turned off my old SBM1 during a show by accidently hitting the mic/line switch, I've always put tape or shrink wrap on all the switches and buttons that I know I won't need. This goes for the MP2 as well as for any other piece of gear I have.

I think when I'm stealthing, accidents like the one I mentioned are somewhat more prone to happen since all my stuff is usually jammed into a fanny pack of some sort, and I might get pushed around, might touch something I'm not supposed to while checking the levels, etc.

But even if my gear is sitting in a larger bag in a safe place, I find it a good idea to protect certain switches, just so I don't have to worry about anything. On my MP2, the only things that don't have tape or shrink wrap attached to them are the power switch and the headphone level knob...

Cool man. Thanks.
