so you think that's a better technique than regular DIN or something like that?

absolutely, what makes a good taper IMO is setting up configs unique to each venue, after all, they are ALL different :)

dont get me wrong, i run DIN/DINa almost exclusively, but ALOT i alter the configs depending on each situation and play around w/ what i did in past experiences and most of the time, i walk away w/ SMOKIN tapes

I mean, whats the point of setting up stricyly DIN in a venue that isnt made for DIN?

alot of the time, i keep the 90 degree angle and alter spacing, narrower ala 4-6 inches for smaller places and maybe 7-8 inches for bigger venues, also altering the angle in most venues just a tad bit can help out tremendously

unless im in a 'normal' venue ala a threatre/outside where i am centered betweeen the stacks/in a great spot/etc, i run just plain ole DIN/DINa, but that doesnt happen often for me, so i alter accordingly, in small places pointing toward each stack, which mostly ends up being DIN-ish anyway

lol, I started paying attention to the rig listings in people's signatures, and it seems like these akg ck61s are pretty popular  >:D
Seriously, the band makes the music. Tapers just point mics in the right direction and hit "record".

That's good to hear!  The last patcher I had complained about my AKGs, fluffed schoeps for about 15 minutes, stayed patched in, and farted on me all night long.

Um, in my room, one seam is a little off and I stare at it constantly. It's, like, destroying me.
