I did some googling and found nothing (I assume you did the same before posting.) It might be nifty to check out if the price stays right.

I think someone has found an arbitrage opportunity with these.  They go for a lot less in Europe, even on Euro-ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160002369167
(starting price 4.99 Euro, no bids, ends tomorrow)

A ggogle search turned up also a page where they were offered at 10 Euro fixed price, don't know if it's still available (in Friesland).

I went to one of the sellers other auctions and clicked on one of the tube amps made by the same company.  Seems the parent company is Siemens.

That's not true. Grundig was an independent German company that made radios, TVs and tape machines. They were one of the first companies to produce color TVs for the European market and they were once the world's biggest producer of tape machines during the 1960s. The company eventually went bankrupt in the 1980s and got bought by Philips.

Here's a site with some pictures of their products:

My mistake.  Went back to find where I had read that and couldn't.  I am often wrong ;)
