Topic: Home Network Trouble :(

So, I've got a D-Link wireless network, with the PCMCIA card in my laptop. I bought a USB 2.0 adaptor to use with the lappy and had to move the D-Link card down to the bottom PCMCIA slot. Well, now it doesn't want to connect to my network anymore. The lappy knows that it's there, but it just doesn't connect to the wireless router on my main computer. 

I uninstalled the drivers and re-installed them, shut the lappy down and inserted the D-link card and still it doesn't work right. I check the Desktop (main computer attached to the wireless router) and I see a message that I have a network conflict... or something like that... all this happened late last night. Anybody have some advice on how to fix this when I get home from work today?

Just when I think I have the computer thing all figured out, something like this throws me back to the dark ages...

Re-insert card into old slot and do the following.
My Network Places->View Network Connections->Look for old Network PCI card instance->Right Click ->Properties->Select Internet Protocol->Click the button to Obtain an IP address automatically.  My guess is you had to set up the IP address manually.  By doing this it will blank the IP address in the cache.

Well, Clint, you got me thinking...
So, I went in and gave it a static IP and all is well. I'm back in business
