Urgent Help! Need advice on replacement..
« on: September 15, 2006, 12:37:21 AM »
So i go to a show tonight to tape.  Get the mics set, plug in to the UA5, then get the optical plug into the JB3 and wait, the line/optical in is shot, broken completly screwed.  So i need to find something to replace a busted JB3.

So... here's where i need quick help.  There's a show(s) that i want to get taped tomorrow, and i'm willing to drop some money on something to replace the JB3.

What would go well (besides a JB3)  in this line... Mics > UA5 > ???

I'm looking for something with some decent capacity, maybe 24bit capabilities.  I'm gonna go check out Guitar center and Sam ash in the morning, so also maybe something that i could ge tfrom one of those "fine" establishments.  Let me know your thoughts.  I know that its a slim chance i can find a good/worth it option for tomorrow night, but over all..

What are some afordable (sturdy!) options to replace a JB3 after a UA5 with out needing a lot of converters and such.

Thanks!!
Logan

Do you NEED digi-in? Microtrack.

Otherwise, Edirol R-09.

That all depends on your definition of affordable.  Some options include:

Another JB3
iRiver H1xx
Microtrack
HD-P2
PMD-670
PMD-671

You -might- find a MicroTrack locally on short notice, but probably not the rest.

yes it has a 2gb limit
but it will start a new file now
you still lose about 6-7 sec though
